The Bihar government has approved the greenfield projects for developing two new airport in Sonpur and Sultanganj. The projects carry a combined investment of about 5,000 INR-Crore and were recently cleared by the state cabinet.
Authorities will develop the Sonpur airport in Saran district over an anticipated 4,228 Acres of land. Meanwhile, they will develop the Sultanganj airport in Bhagalpur district over about 931 Acres. The projects will include construction of airport terminals, runways and associated aviation infrastructure. Additionally, authorities will undertake land acquisition and construction activities as part of the development plan.

Once completed, the Bihar greenfield airport projects will improve regional air connectivity across the state. It will also support economic development by enhancing access to major cities and boosting trade and tourism.
