CM N. Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation for the Google AI data center project in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, April 28. The project carries an investment of approximately 135,000 INR-Crore and marks one of the largest data center investments in India.
The facility will span an anticipated 601.4 Acres. The proposed development will include a large-scale artificial intelligence data center campus with advanced computing infrastructure. The project will involve construction of data center buildings, server infrastructure, cooling systems, and power supply systems. It will also require high-capacity power infrastructure and network connectivity systems to support AI workloads. Additionally, the campus will include support infrastructure such as utilities, internal roads, and service facilities.

The Google AI data center project will strengthen India’s digital infrastructure capacity. It will also position Visakhapatnam as a major data center hub. The investment is expected to support technology-led growth and attract further investments in the region.
