PM Modi lays foundation stone for 13,037 INR-Crore Jaipur metro phase 2 project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually laid the foundation stone for the Jaipur Metro Phase 2 project in Rajasthan. Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited (RMRCL) will develop the project with an estimated investment of 13,037 INR-Crore. The foundation stone was laid during the inauguration ceremony of the Rajasthan Refinery at Pachpadra in Balotra district.

The Jaipur Metro Phase 2 project will develop a 41 Km North-South corridor from Prahladpura to Todi Mod. The corridor will comprise 36 metro stations and connect major industrial, residential, and commercial areas, including Sitapura Industrial Area, Vishwakarma Industrial Area (VKIA), Jaipur International Airport, Jaipur Railway Station, SMS Hospital, and Vidyadhar Nagar. The project also includes an underground airport station, a 12 Km elevated corridor under the first construction package, 10 elevated metro stations, and a spur line connecting the main corridor to the metro depot. Additionally, feeder bus services are planned to integrate nearby towns with the metro network.

Once completed, the Jaipur Metro Phase 2 project will expand Jaipur’s metro network beyond 50 Km. It will improve urban mobility, reduce traffic congestion, and strengthen multi-modal connectivity across the city while supporting future ridership growth.
