Reliance Industries plans to develop the data center cluster near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project involves a total estimated investment of 160,000 INR-Crore and has received approval from the State Investment Promotion Committee. The proposed development will include a large-scale data center cluster along with supporting energy infrastructure.
The project will be developed in phases with a planned capacity of 1.5 GW. The company has sought an anticipated 935 Acres of land for the data center cluster, including 300 Acres for Phase 1 and 635 Acres for Phase 2. Additional land includes 1 Acre for a cable landing station and 80 Acres for a desalination plant. Phase 1 will include a 500 MW data center at Polipalli village, expected to be operational by October 2028. Phase 2 will add 1 GW capacity near Bhogapuram by 2030. The development will also include a captive renewable energy system, with an investment of an estimated 108,000 INR-Crore for the data center and 51,300 INR-Crore for the solar and battery storage project.

Once operational, the Reliance Andhra data center cluster will significantly expand digital infrastructure capacity in the state. It will also support the region’s emergence as a major data center hub. The project is expected to strengthen investment activity and infrastructure development near Visakhapatnam.
