Solex Energy Ltd has announced an investment of an estimated 4,000 INR-Crore in Gujarat. The company will set up a solar cell manufacturing facility and a battery energy storage system (BESS) project. It has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat. The agreement will support the development of an integrated renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.
The scope of the project includes the establishment of a 5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility and a 10 GW BESS project. Moreover, the solar manufacturing unit will be developed in phases, with 2 GW in Phase I and 3 GW in Phase II. The project will form part of a large-scale clean energy manufacturing ecosystem in the state.

The project is expected to strengthen Gujarat’s position as a clean-tech manufacturing hub. It will support domestic solar manufacturing and energy storage capacity. It also aligns with India’s broader renewable energy goals and efforts to enhance energy security.
