The Government of Tamil Nadu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for investments worth an estimated 17,500 INR-Crore across multiple industrial projects in the state. Chief Minister Vijay signed the agreement with L&T Chairman and Managing Director S.N. Subrahmanyan. The Tamil Nadu L&T investment will support the development of data center infrastructure, electronics manufacturing facilities, shipbuilding expansion, and renewable energy projects.
The investment includes a Data Center Expansion Project in Kancheepuram district with an investment of 5,000 INR-Crore. L&T will also establish an Electronics and Electronic Systems Manufacturing Project in Coimbatore with an investment of 250 INR-Crore. Additionally, the company will expand its shipbuilding facility at Kattupalli in Tiruvallur district through an investment of 8,100 INR-Crore. The remaining investment will support renewable energy projects and digital infrastructure initiatives across the state.

Once implemented, the Tamil Nadu L&T investment is expected to strengthen the state’s industrial and digital infrastructure ecosystem. The projects will expand data center capacity, support electronics manufacturing growth, and enhance shipbuilding capabilities while attracting further investments into Tamil Nadu’s industrial sector.
