Webley & Scott to invest 300 INR-Crore in ammunition unit in Lucknow

Webley & Scott will invest an estimated 300 INR-Crore to establish an ammunition manufacturing unit at the Lucknow node of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor. The company announced the proposal on Friday, May 8, 2026. The project will strengthen ammunition manufacturing infrastructure within the state’s defence corridor.

The proposed facility will manufacture small, medium and large-calibre ammunition for defence applications. The company plans to develop the unit in collaboration with Indian partners at the Lucknow defence corridor. Additionally, the project will include manufacturing infrastructure, storage facilities and supporting industrial utilities required for ammunition production. However, the company has not disclosed land area details or project timelines.

Once operational, the ammunition manufacturing unit will support domestic ammunition manufacturing capacity and strengthen defence industrial infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. The project is also expected to attract further investments into the Lucknow defence corridor and support India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.
