Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has received World Bank approval to float the civil construction tender for Gurugram Metro Phase 2 in Haryana. The tender carries an estimated value of 1,400 INR-Crore. GMRL plans to issue the tender within a week. The project covers the development of a 13 Km metro corridor between Sector 9 and CyberHub.
The scope includes the construction of 14 metro stations and the associated rail infrastructure. The proposed stations include Sector 7, Sector 4, Sector 5, Ashok Vihar, Sector 3, Bajghera Road, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector 23A, Sector 22, Udyog Vihar Phase 4, Udyog Vihar Phase 5, Cyber City and a station on the spur towards Gurugram railway station. Additionally, the corridor will connect with the Rapid Metro and Namo Bharat Rail network through an interchange at Shankar Chowk. Separately, GMRL will re-float the 409 INR-Crore tender for the proposed depot and workshop in Sector 33.

The Gurugram Metro Phase 2 project forms part of the city’s planned 30.7 Km metro network. The system will include 28 stations, a depot and two spur lines. Meanwhile, GMRL is coordinating with NHAI and GMDA for utility shifting and supporting infrastructure works. Once completed, the corridor is further expected to strengthen urban mobility and improve connectivity across key residential and commercial zones of Gurugram.
