Uttar Pradesh Government has approved the upgradation of Green Park Cricket Stadium worth an estimated 456.94 INR-Crore. The proposed stadium will have a capacity of 55,000 seats, making it the largest stadium in the state.
The upgraded Green Park Cricket Stadium will include new spectator galleries, training facilities, a cricket museum, VVIP facilities, and indoor and outdoor pitches. The stadium has received approval for an estimated 350 INR-Crore, while the proposed budget has been raised to nearly 456.94 INR-Crore. The government has allotted 75 days for the project’s architectural consultancy. Moreover, the construction is expected to begin next month, while the completion of the project is targeted within six months.

Green Park Cricket Stadium will offer a new spectator gallery with an arch-shaped exterior inspired by the state emblem. Additionally, the design will incorporate shapes inspired by the swamp deer (state animal), the sarus crane, and the palash flower. A three-Storey VVIP gallery is planned with arrangements for approximately 15,000 people, including 500 VVIP guests. The stadium currently has a capacity of over 32,000 seats, and the proposed redevelopment plan will have a larger seating capacity than Ekana Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 50,000.
