Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, November 2, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for Pune Metro projects worth 21,800 INR-Crore. The foundation stone was laid for Phase 2 Pune Metro worth an estimated 13,500 INR-Crore.
Phase 2 will comprise Pune Metro lines 2A, 2B, 4 and 4A. Additionally, under Phase 2, Lines 2A and 2B will span 12.75 Km. Line 2A will connect Vanaz to Chandni Chowk, while 2B will connect Ramwadi to Vitthalwadi. This will extend the east-west Metro network. Meanwhile, Line 4 will cover 6.12 Km, connecting Nal Stop to Manik Baug.

Furthermore, Phase 2 Pune Metro and other new corridors will connect several important locations, including Kharadi, Magarpatta, Hadapsar, Swargate, and Manik Baug. It will also connect Nanded City, Pune Cantonment, and Warje. Moreover, the Prime Minister inaugurated Pune Metro Line 3, also known as the Pink Line, built at an estimated cost of 8,300 INR-Crore.
