Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal shakti, V Somanna, laid the foundation stone for a 4-lane Road over Bridge (RoB) between Guntur and Nambur line. The project was sanctioned at an estimated cost of 108 INR-Crore.
The 4-lane RoB will cover 668 Meter (M) and will replace Level Crossing (LC) Gate No. 3 on the Guntur-Krishna Canal Section of the Guntur-Nambur Line. The project is anticipated to cover approximately 2.9 Acres of land and is located near the Inner Ring Road of Guntur city. Additionally, the RoB will connect Bus Stand Road directly with Gorantla village.

The Road over Bridge project in Guntur-Nambur Line will improve passenger safety and operational efficiency. It will also save commute time, reduce fuel wastage and prevent vehicle detentions. Meanwhile, 74 railway stations in Andhra Pradesh are also being modified, with modern amenities worth nearly 3,500 INR-Crore. The station upgrades will further add to the ongoing railway infrastructure construction pipeline across Andhra Pradesh.
