Odisha Govt approves industrial and tourism investment proposals worth 3,280 INR-Crore

The Odisha Govt on Tuesday, September 29, approved 19 industrial and tourism investment proposals worth a total estimated 3,280.58 INR-Crore. These approvals were accorded at the 150th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA). 

In the biofuel sector, Indian Oil Corporation Limited has proposed setting up 39,600 Tonne Per Annum (TPA) compressed biogas plants in eight districts of the state, with an investment estimated at 960 INR-Crore. Meanwhile, Kineta Global Ltd has also proposed to set up an 8,250 TPA compressed biogas facility in Ganjam. The facility is estimated to be 170 INR-Crore. Tata Power has also submitted proposals to establish a global capability center in Khurda worth an estimated 54.31 INR-Crore. 

In the plastics sector, Shri Dakshineshwari Maa Polyfabs Limited has proposed to set up a facility for manufacturing 40,000 Tonnes of PP woven and non-woven fabric and bags in Khurda. The project involves an estimated investment of 401.63 INR-Crore. Additionally, in the textile sector, Dollar Industries will set up an integrated hosiery unit with knitting, bleaching, and dyeing facilities in Khurda. The company will invest nearly 125 INR-Crore in this project.

Apart from the industrial investment proposals in Odisha, the tourism sector has received five major proposals across Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Koraput and Puri districts. 

• BBB Hotel Pvt Ltd will establish a 5-star hotel in Ganjam worth an estimated 208.04 INR-Crore.  
• Hotel Sea Pearl Orissa Pvt Ltd will establish a 5-star beach resort in Puri under a brand partnership with ACCOR Group of Hotels and Resorts. The project is estimated at 180 INR-Crore. 
• Highlands Hotels and Resorts Pvt Ltd has proposed to set up a 4-star resort in Jharsuguda with an estimated investment of 150 INR-Crore. 
• The Puri Eco-Tourism and Resorts Pvt Ltd will establish a -star resort in Puri worth an estimated 124 INR-Crore.
• Odyssey Leisure Pvt Ltd will set up a 4-star resort in Koraput worth an estimated 105 INR-Crore.

Of all the industrial investment proposals in Odisha, the chemical sector has approved two companies to set up their units: 

• Aquaproof Wallcare India will set up a 3.05 Lakh-Tonne construction chemicals unit. The project is located in Cuttack and will be 62.64 INR-Crore. 
• Asipiya Chemicals will set up a 500 MT solvent distillation unit in Jagatsinghpur with a total investment of 60 INR-Crore. 

Meanwhile, in the food processing sector: 

• Geofast Industries will set up an integrated snacks and namkeen unit in Khurda worth 120 INR-Crore. 
• Jai Bhawani Foods will establish a food and confectionery co-packaging unit in Cuttack. The project is worth 100 INR-Crore.

Lastly, along with other industrial investment proposals in Odisha, the steel sector has cleared three projects: 

• SPS Arihant Steel Structures has submitted a proposal to manufacture 30,000 Tonne Per Annum I-girders and box beams. Additionally, it will include 5,000 Tonne Per Annum fasteners and 1.5 Lakh TMT rebar couplers in Deogarh. The proposed project is worth 140 INR-Crore. 
• Steeledge Fabrication will set up a 60,000 MT fabrication and machining unit in Sundargarh worth 108.82 INR-Crore.
• Bhubaneswar Udyog Pvt Ltd will produce colour-coated sheets, corrugated GI sheets, and GI structural components in Cuttack worth 101.99 INR-Crore.
