ReNew arm signs with Maharashtra for green data center ecosystem worth 70,000 INR-Crore

ReNew Wind Energy Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ReNew Private Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra Government to develop a Green Integrated Data Center. The project is estimated at 70,000 INR-Crore and will be developed in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. 

ReNew Green Data Center is planned with a capacity of 750 MW, and is proposed across locations including Panvel, Khalapur, Taloja, and Bhokarpada in the Navi Mumbai and MMR region. Additionally, a key feature of this project is its focus on integrating renewable energy. The data center is expected to use 51% of green power for its operations, including dedicated power infrastructure with two incoming feeders from independent sources to ensure reliable supply.

The development of this project is expected to commence in phases from 2028. Furthermore, the agreement provides for facilitation by the state government in obtaining necessary approvals, clearances, registrations, and applicable fiscal incentives.
